KVA Ninth Graders Visit Vance County Courthouse
On February 21st, the KVA Ninth graders visited the Vance County Courthouse.
The visit was the culminating activity after reading TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD. Judge Caroline Burrnett was our tour guide. We were able to sit in on jury selection in Superior Court, observe Traffic Court, and visit the Clerkâs office where we saw a handwritten will from the 1800s. Both the District Attorney, Mr. Waters, and Sheriff Brame talked with the class before the tour.
